I swapped a tbi unit on my sbc 350 in a 90 jeep wrangler. I purchased the ecm and wiring harness from. Hey all, i have a 1987 silverado r10, after doing an engine swap, had the original distributor in last week and the tbi was spraying, but put an hei distributor in and now it’s not spraying fuel. Need to find out if there is any fuel getting up to the tbi at all.

this is the under hood video for trouble shooting help to diagnose my no start with out a fuel prime problem. this vehicle is a 1988 chev, 2500 Pick up with a 5.7L and TBI. I have replaced the MAP sensor, fuel pump, and fuel pressure regulator. Cleaned the contacts on the fuel pump relay which appears to be operating properly. I also disconnected the battery to reset the computer. SOLUTION WAS, spark module failure. Replaced spark module and it's repaired.
This is to help and assist on figuring out some issues with the throttle body injection system in Chevys or TBI. I found out that oil pressure switch is tied in to proper injection and so is the distributor module. My understanding is that Chevy TBI systems might have these issues.

For a year my 1988 GMC Vandura with a 5.7 TBI would crank but not start. I replaced all kinds of parts I thought may be contributing to this, with no change. Finally out of irritation I climbed under my van removed the main ground cable that comes off the battery's negative terminal and bolts to the bottom front of the engine block. I took my Dremel & wire brush to the connector and bolted it back on… after one year of not starting, a 30 second "clean up" and my van started up on the first…

Final Words
You first need to check the fuel pressure, an easy way to access this is to buy a can of spray starting fluid, spray it into the tbi throttle valve and if the truck starts and dies. Check and make sure your ecu actually knows it's cranking. It won't shoot fuel into the motor until it thinks your turning the key.

Both injector harnesses show 6. 2 volts while cranking, 7. 5 volts when not cranking but with the fuel pump running, and 10. 3 volts with just the ignition on. Remote possibility of the injectors losing power when via the ignition switch and/or wiring when you crank the engine.
