Something that i think quite a few people dont try on the 2007.5 to current 6.7 cummins is just changing or checking the actuator. Unfortunately due to the installation point, most shops will just change your turbo. Ok so i have a 2007 6. 7l with 226k on the odometer tuned with an h&m’s mini maxx and a full get egr delete and my ecm cooked a few. I recently bought a 2008 6. 7 cummins and noticed the exhaust brake does not seem to be working, the light comes on when i press the button but the brake doesn’t. The exhaust brake function on your 6. 7 is part of the vgt ( variable geometry turbo) and not using the function will carbon up the system. That will still give it plenty of.
