This particular issue affects series 60 engines built before 2002. For some reason, there was a defect in some of the wrist pins that led to the separating of the piston pin and crown. Ususlly we recommend replacement of filters and the fuel.

Pulled over and noticed. Coolant leaks from the egr cooler are a common issue on the detroit 60 series diesel engines. As a side note, coolant leaks in the oil cooler is also a potential problem.
