Mine wasn't throwing codes but, it sure wan't. If your car is not warm and your car transmission disappears out of gear, most probably it happens for short transmission fluid. At that time, transmission loses. 4l80e not shifting out of first.

Tranny on my 2000 GMC C3500 would work fine until worm, at which point I'd lose overdrive (4th gear) and would get a jerky shift from 1 to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd, I found out my harness plug was leaking, it's not the O-ring it's the plug socket itself on transmission side wicking trans oil through the plug, shorting out connectors.
