2012 chevy ccsb d/max 4×4. The 275/70 is about 3/4 taller and 1/4 narrower than the 285/65. I have the 285/65 on my factory 18s and they look great.

These are kellys clone of duratracs. 275/70/18 is a little more than 1/2 inch taller than and 285/65/18 is a little less than 1/2 inch wider. For some reason, 275s are a lot cheaper and with more options. Speaking from experience go with the 275/70/18 your truck will like them better. and much more of a selection in that size.
You are correct, the 285/65/18 is approximately 1/2 shorter (32. 6) than the 275/70/18 (33. 14), but the 275 is also approx 1/2 narrower (10. 82) than the 285/65 (11. 22). Where the 285's might look slightly better from the front/back. The 275/70's are also a true 33 tire. The 285's actually turn out to be 32. 6 and only. 5 bigger than stock.

I decided to risk it for the biscuit and throw the tires and wheels on anyway because snow is coming and I need good traction. In 9 days I'll have the leveling kit installed which should eliminate the minor rubbing I'm experiencing right now. After removing the front air deflectors I gained enough clearance in stock form to make the tires possible for the meantime. #Tundra #Toyota #Snow

285 65 18 Vs 275 70 18. Going with the 275s would leave an extra $200 in my pocket. I don't like the idea of putting 10. 8 wide tires on 8. 5 wheels. This is also on my mind.
