Replacing this mirror was actually quite easy. I followed the GM directions (I have a PDF file if you want it) by the book. I replaced the mirror with a genuine GM part (84898871). I reused the stock black cap piece from the old mirror. I performed a function check and it all works. Make sure to get the right part # for your truck using your VIN code.
