When this happens, the electric radiator fans come on full power,the temp gage turns off, the ac will not turn on. The check engine light does. Code says engine hot ac turned off. 2011 chevy silverado 4. 3l v6.

Here's an update sorry I been away for awhile. Got a Chevy Silverado 1500 Coolant gauge stopped working showed 160 and odometer said engine hot AC off. Replaced Thermostat and disconnected battery. Issue solved. Used a Failsafe thermostat with the gasket. 18 bucks at autozone.
