The fuse was corroded which was causing the brake lights not to work! Went ahead and replaced some burnt out bulbs too and the brake pedal switch while I was in there. What was your issue? Comment below!. 2006 Jeep Commander Brake Lights Not Working

I was getting esp/bas light i replaced the brake switch. We keep track of over 400 models across over 30 different brands of automobiles. The tail light circuit is separate from the brake and turn signal circuit. Either the bulb socket has gone bad or a wire has flaked out.

Went ahead and replaced some burnt out bulbs too and the brake pedal switch while i was. If the third brake light still doesn't work check fuse 2 behind the glove box. If that's ok check for voltage at the pink/dark blue wire at the stop lamp switch. If none of the brake lights are working, we are going to follow the circuit from the fuse box back to the brake pedal.
