This was a real issue that after posting this, others had similar issues. I thought if you did not have the chip present the car would flat out not start, but not with this Cherokee. You will get a laugh out of this and hopefully my frustrations will benefit and shorten your troubleshooting life. Once the key system sees the chip you do not need it to keep the car running.
